Dear colleagues,

I would like to remind you of our next COS Key Note held by Irene Miguel-Aliaga (Imperial College London, UK), which will take place on January 12th 2023 (11 am) at the Large Lecture Hall INF 230.

Irene Miguel-Aliaga's lab is interested in the plasticity of adult organs: how and why organs that are commonly regarded as fully developed change in size or function in response to environmental or internal challenges. Using the intestine and its neurons as model, Irene’s lab explores these questions using the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster, because it allows to explore organ plasticity from an integrated perspective.

Irene is a highly productive scientist, who has established herself as an important figure at the interface of Developmental Biology and Physiology, where she makes regularly major contributions to this field. In addition, she is an excellent speaker who is fun to listen to. More information on Irene can be found here:

The COS Key Note is one the yearly highlights in the COS calendar giving PIs, postdocs, PhD and master students of COS and there institutions the opportunity to meet scientists leading their research fields. I therefore strongly encourage you and your students to join the seminar.
